Whoopi Goldberg has recently made bold statement on retirement plans.
The Sister Act actress, who is the longtime co-host of the daytime talk show, revealed she has no intention of retiring from the show.
“I’ve gotta keep paying those bills, baby!” said the 69-year-old in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight.
When asked if she’s considered “slowing down,” Whoopi revealed she thought to do it sometime but then added, “Who can afford to do that?”
Ghost actress jokingly said, “If you don’t marry well, you’ve got to keep working.”
However, Whoopi clarified that she’s not ready for retirement at the moment.
The Color Purple actress, who joined The View back in 2007, reportedly replaced Rosie O’Donnell as co-host and moderator.
Interestingly, Whoopi, who has been married and divorced three times, reflected on her marriages in an old episode of Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? in May.
Meanwhile, The Lion King actress told former CNN anchor Chris Wallace that she no longer had energy for that type of devoted relationship.
“I am invested in my kid. I’m invested in her kids. I’m invested in my son-in-law. I’m invested in my friends,” she continued.
However, Whoopi added, “I’m not invested in a relationship that would require as much as having a child requires and I know that that’s not for me.”
