Shares of Microsoft Corp. shed 0.31% to $266.73 Wednesday, on what proved to be an all-around rough trading session for the stock market, with the S&P 500 Index falling 1.11% to 4,117.86 and Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 0.61% to 33,949.01. Microsoft Corp. closed $49.22 below its 52-week high ($315.95), which the company achieved on March 30th.

Despite its losses, the stock outperformed some of its competitors Wednesday, as Apple Inc. fell 1.77% to $151.92, Alphabet Inc. Cl C fell 7.44% to $100.00, and Alphabet Inc. Cl A fell 7.68% to $99.37.true Trading volume (54.2 M) eclipsed its 50-day average volume of 30.6 M.
