WASHINGTON—Former President Donald Trump’s efforts to enlist senior Justice Department officials, including the acting attorney general, into a wide-ranging effort to overturn the presidential election will be the focus of Thursday’s hearing by the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

The hearing is scheduled to include live testimony from officials including Jeffrey Rosen, the former acting attorney general who replaced William Barr atop the department in the final weeks of the Trump administration. Mr. Barr resigned in December 2020 after repeatedly telling Mr. Trump that his claims of widespread election fraud were baseless.
